Flashback 2025

The 2025 edition of Flashback questions the concept of generally recognized art, inviting reflection on non-canonical experiences. Following this cue, Galleria dello Scudo investigates the role of materials in art.
In particular, paper becomes the subject of a conceptual exercise, first represented in its role as a support, and then as the subject of the work itself.
In the first case, drawings representing the taste of the early 20th century were created on different types of paper by masters of the 20th century, such as Boccioni, Morandi, Severini, and Modigliani. In the second case, a hundred years after those experiences, Sassolino creates a sculpture that makes paper the subject of the work itself, revealing a sculptural quality that has never been explored before.
