6 March - 9 June 2024
curated by Daniela Lancioni and Paola Bonani
exhibition promoted by Assessorato alla Cultura di Roma Capitale and Azienda Speciale Palaexpo
The exhibition celebrating the centenary of the birth of Carla Accardi, a key figure of contemporary Italian and international visual culture of the second half of the twentieth century, opens to the public on Wednesday 6 March. The initiative, carried out in collaboration with Archivio Accardi Sanfilippo and with the support of the Silvano Toti Foundation, is conceived, produced and organized by Azienda Speciale Palaexpo.
Aproximately one hundred works created by the artist during her long career will be on display, from her beginnings linked to the Forma group, to the radical turning point of black and white painting up to the experiments based on colors and the use of innovative materials such as sicofoil. The itinerary also includes the environments of the Sixties and the 2000s, passing through the painting of the 1980s, entrusted to the reconstruction of the personal room at the 1988 Venice Biennale, up to the explosive reinterpretations carried out in the 1990s and 2000s.
