Four works, some of a large size already exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo, composed the artist’s anthological exhibition Mechanismen der Gewalt / Mechanisms of Power, together with the show of Regina José Galindo, from 19 February at the Frankfurter Kunstverein in Frankfurt at the be¬hest of the director Franziska Nori. Then came the volume edited by his philosopher friend Luca Illetterati, marked by reflection on the themes that recur in Sassolino’s work: Life, Action, Conflict, Danger, Birth, Limit. The vision already emerged of a creative commitment characterised by an extremely limited production, due to the long and complex phases of design, experimentation and final execution of the works. Each was different from the previous one, permeated by continuous unknowns, always conceived to stir in the viewer powerful and unexpected feelings of suspension, expectancy, danger or fear.
