Inspired by the Divina cycle presented for the first time in 2010 in the rooms of Palazzo Credito Bergamasco in Bergamo, Giovanni Frangi’s large-sized canvases, now assembled at the Galleria dello Scudo, offer an unprecedented look at nature, seen through chromatic ranges and new light relationships. The purple color is the leitmotif of the paintings, born from the vision of the plane tree leaves in autumn, which “become wallpaper on the wall and real leaves on the floor”, as described in the catalog accompanying the exhibition in Bergamo.
