The exhibition dedicated to Gianni Dova is another event dedicated to a personality representative of the abstract painting in Italy, one of the protagonists of the Spatialist Movement founded in 1947 in Milan. Object of interest by Michel Tapié in fundamental monographs such as the catalogue of the exhibition on informal art in Paris Un art autre, 1952, and Morphologie autre published in 1962, the Roman painter now presents a selection of thirty recent paintings inspired by Nordic imaginary landscapes. Gruppo in volo Flying group), Alba, Viaggio nordico (Nordic Journey), Cielo bretone (Brittany sky), Scogliera (Cliff) or Aria di Bretagna (Air of Brittany) are the titles of some paintings relinquished for the occasion, crossed by the recurrent presence of sharp profiles derived in part from reminiscences of surrealist matrix.
