Two decades of Carla Accardi’s research are analyzed through a selection of her works on paper. Accardi is one of the most interesting personalities of Italian abstract art in the second half of the 20th century, in a period living the deepening of the reflections on the optical effects of color linked with sign. The thick compositional texture, characterized by a rapid rhythm, reaffirms also in the works on paper, as in paintings, the peculiarity of the language chosen by Accardi, who reaches effects of deep harmony and compositional vitality.
